Troy Michigan Newborn Photography: What You Need to Know Before Choosing Your Newborn Photographer

If you’re a new parent, you’re probably overwhelmed with all the decisions you need to make.

Newborn photography doesn’t have to be one of them.

Let me guide you through the process and provide you with all the information you need to capture the early moments of your baby’s life.

Let’s dive into some of the most common questions about newborn photography.

“What should I look for when hiring a newborn photographer?”

It’s important to choose a photographer who specializes in newborn photography and has experience working with infants. Newborns especially are so fragile. Making sure your photographer has knowledge of newborn safety with posing, handling ect. is of the highest priority. I have photographed hundreds of newborns in my Troy, Michigan studio for the last 14 years. I previously was a nurse working with infants, so safety is my top priority. I am CPR certified, and dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for you and your baby. I understand the importance of capturing these early moments, and I take pride in creating beautiful, timeless memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.

"When should I book a newborn photo session?"

I highly recommend searching in your first and second trimester for a photographer you want to work with. Making sure that you are a good fit by checking out their portfolio to see if you like their work, not just their prices because these will be passed through generations and you want beautiful images too. I recommend having an in person or phone consult so you get a feel for them. You should feel comfortable in their ability to handle your newborn. I love in person consults, if your schedule allows. I love showing clients the newborn goodies I have such as headbands, custom props, wraps, outfits etc that I have and talking about colors, ideas and all the fun stuff in the planning. It creates excitement on both ends and we can see if we are a good fit.

I recommend booking your session around 20 weeks. This will ensure a spot on my schedule. Waiting until right before baby’s arrival or 2 weeks after will possible end with disappointment and a scramble for a good photographer that is experienced with newborns. I sometimes have last minute openings in my schedule, but I don’t recommend taking that gamble. Even in the case that baby has a stay in the NICU or some other reason they cannot come in in the first 2 weeks, once you are booked on my schedule, we can adjust the date based on your needs.

“What can I expect during a newborn photography session?”

During a newborn photography session, I’ll work to create a comfortable and safe environment for your baby, and guide you through the posing process. I encourage parents and siblings to participate in this special moment, and will shoot a variety of images with baby’s parents and any siblings. If you have any specific poses or props in mind, I’m always happy to try to incorporate your ideas and preferences into the session. These will be discussed during the pre planning time either via phone, in person or questionnaire.

Babies eat, poop, pee and sometimes cry at newborn sessions. I make sure that baby is always comfortable. I work at their pace, letting them lead me through my workflow, adjusting if they are not cooperative with a certain pose and never forcing them to do something. We break for feeding, soothing, cuddles and diaper changes. If they happen to pee/poo on my things, do not worry! I am very used to it and it is totally fine. Everything is washed before and after sessions!

To capture the best moments, I prefer to photograph newborns between 7-21 days old.

“Do I need to bring anything?”

You don’t need to bring much to the session as most of the items your baby will need will be provided by the studio, including props, backdrops, and wraps. However, I do recommend bring extra diapers, wipes and milk whether it is pumped breast milk, or extra formula, because newborn babies tend to eat a little more around the age I would be photographing them. If they are hungry, they do not want me trying much with them. Sometimes we hit the “cluster-feed” day and all they want to do is eat, it seems. I have had a lot of experience handling this scenario, and do the best we can while making sure baby is happy. If I feel we need to, I will offer additional time on another date, but this is rare for me. I have a lot of tricks to get baby to cooperative that I have used over the years. Sometimes, they are gassy, cluster feeding, need to burp-it is almost always GI issues, and if we can wait it out while making them cozy we get magic.

"When will I get my photos?"

After the session, you can expect to receive a proofing gallery of images from your sessions to view and select within a few days. Once you have placed your order with me, I will retouch each image, and create any custom orders. Digital images will be sent within 2 weeks and prints, albums and custom wall art will be around 4 weeks. I love creating tangible, beautiful artwork for my clients and offer several beautiful options to print and preserve your images.

"How much does newborn photography cost?"

Newborn photography sessions can range from $500 to $3,000, depending on what you order. I know this might seem like a significant investment, but keep in mind that newborn photography is a specialized service that requires a lot of time, effort, and equipment. I’m dedicated to providing high-quality images & products that you’ll cherish for a lifetime! Most clients prefer a combination of digital images and art work. I offer beautiful linen albums, wall art, gift prints, as well as digital images. I only want you to get what you want and have no minimum amount you have to purchase. I require a retainer fee to be paid when booking and then choose only what you want.

6 Simple Steps to Prepare for Your Newborn’s Arrival-Troy MI Newborn Photographer

Are you expecting a new baby in the next few weeks? I totally get it, the anticipation can be exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. But don’t worry, I’ve got your back! I’ve rounded up my top 6 tips for getting your home ready for your new arrival in just two weeks. As a mom who’s been through the newborn phase twice and having photographed hundreds of newborn as a Troy MI newborn photographer for the last 15 years, I’ve gathered some unique ideas and tips that you might not have thought of before!

1. Declutter Your Home

Decluttering your home can sound like a daunting task, especially when you’re expecting a newborn! But it’s easier than you think to get your home ready for your newest addition. Honestly decluttering has always been overwhelming for me, but I feel SO much better when I declutter my space. It is always worth the effort for me!

Here are some steps to follow to declutter before baby arrives:

Step 1: Choose two or three rooms that you frequent most often (most likely this will be your living room, kitchen and bedroom).

Step 2: Start by noticing where things tend to pile up. For me, that’s always been my kitchen counters. Find a new place for these items to go so they stop piling up!
Step 3: Let’s “Marie Kondo” your stuff! Let’s clear out what you don’t need or want anymore. Go through each drawer, cabinet and shelf and ask yourself, “Do I still need/want this item?”

Step 4: Make 3 piles, “Keep, Donate, Toss” and put everything into 1 of those piles.
Step 5: Organize the “keep” items, throw away the “toss” items (or recycle if possible) and give away the “donate.”

Turn on some music and make it fun! Ask a friend to come over and help. I tend to get sidetracked if I don’t have someone helping me. They usually do not have an attachment to our things like we do so they can be more objective and it makes it a lot more fun!

By following these simple steps over the course of just a few days or a weekend, you can quickly create a stress-free and comfortable newborn-ready environment in your own home.

2. Batch Cook

The thought of cooking a ton of food in one go can be intimidating, but batch cooking is a lifesaver, especially when you’re getting ready to welcome your newborn into the world. You’ll thank yourself later!

Here are a few simple steps to follow to get started:

Step 1: Plan out your meals. Choose recipes that are easy to make in large quantities, and make a list of all the ingredients you will need.
Cabbage Rolls, Lasagna and Chicken Noodle Soup are all great ideas! Check out my Pinterest board [here] or opt into my newsletter below where I share monthly recipes!
Step 2: Go grocery shopping. Try to do this a few days before you plan to start cooking, so you have everything you need on hand.
Step 3: Set aside a block of time to cook. Depending on how much you want to make, you may need several hours or even a full day to get everything done. Consider getting the help of a friend or family member to make it more fun!
Step 4: Cook in batches. Prepare one recipe at a time, and portion it out into individual servings. Use freezer-safe containers or bags, and be sure to label everything with the name of the dish and the date it was made.
Step 5: Freeze your meals. Once everything is cooked and portioned out, place the containers in the freezer. They will keep for several months, so you can have a variety of meals ready to go whenever you need them.

By following these steps, you can create a stockpile of nutritious, homemade meals that will make the first few weeks with your newborn a little bit easier!

3. Stock up on essentials (& not just baby essentials)

You’re likely already thinking about things like diapers, wipes, bottles, etc.

But have you considered stocking up on regular household items like paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher soap…?

My best tip would be to set these items up on Amazon Subscribe and Save so they’ll show up on your doorstep and you never have to worry about running out those first few months with your newborn!

Of course, you can always Door Dash from places like Costco or similar stores to order things in bulk once you know how much you go through it. Toilet paper, laundry detergent and healthy snacks always seemed to run low. Personally, I always forgot to buy personal necessities for myself when I would run out to the store. My kids are older, so I didn’t have the option of delivery services when they were newborns!

4. Put together a baby care basket

A baby care basket, or sometimes called a “downstairs” basket is a lifesaver those first few weeks home with a new baby.

Oftentimes, you’re in one space with the baby for most of the day and find yourself “trapped” under a sleeping baby without the supplies you need!

A baby care basket can solve that for you. Basically, it’s a container you can keep in each room of the house that has all the essentials for baby so you’re not running around from room to room getting the things you need.

Usually, the baby care basket includes diapers, wipes, burp cloths, extra clothes, pacifiers, and anything else you might need for the baby frequently.

I also like to think about including things for mom like nipple cream, breast pads, chapstick, etc.

In addition to keeping you from running from room to room, a baby care basket will help you stay organized and keep your home clutter free.

I didn’t have a “baby care” basket but wish I did! I just had the diaper bag in the room usually, but it didn’t have things like a phone charger or ear buds, lotion or mints for those drop in guests when you haven’t brushed your teeth. It bet you will find a ton of helpful things to add to your basket!

5. Light Your Home the Right Way

Maybe this is important to me because I’m a photographer, I don’t know 😉 but lighting is one I don’t see talked about too often!!

Proper lighting can help create a calm and comfortable atmosphere for both you and your baby.

First, look at the rooms you’ll spend the most time in (typically kitchen, living room, bedrooms). You’ll want to consider the type of lighting you have in each room.

Do you want to add a lamp option (yes, even in the kitchen)?
Under cabinet lights?
How about a dimmer switch for the overhead lights?
What about small wall plug in lights to help light the way in the halls for the middle of the night?

The right lighting can help frustrating or overly stimulating situations feel much more calm and peaceful.

Finally, safety is also a consideration when it comes to lighting. Make sure that all cords and outlets are safely tucked away and secured to prevent tripping or electrical hazards.

Prepare YOUR wardrobe

Of course we’re thinking a lot about how to prepare for the baby, but don’t forget about yourself! I don’t know about you, but when I feel good nothing can stop me! And that starts with getting dressed in the morning, right?!

Preparing your wardrobe for the first 2-3 weeks postpartum is an important step in getting ready for the arrival of your new baby. This is something I didn’t prepare for the first time and I wish I had!

Comfort and functionality are key during this time! You’ll want to focus on loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that can accommodate changes in your body shape and allow for easy breastfeeding access if you plan to breastfeed.

Consider investing in a few nursing bras, loose-fitting pants or leggings, and comfortable tops that are easy to pull up or down. Some women also find it helpful to have a couple of nursing-friendly dresses on hand for a dressier option. I also wish I’d had jeans that fit or cute shoes for my swollen feet.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you will likely still be bleeding for a few weeks, so having a few pairs of comfortable and absorbent underwear or postpartum pads on hand is a good idea.

Remember, the key to preparing your wardrobe for the first few weeks postpartum is to prioritize comfort and practicality. By doing so, you can focus on bonding with your new baby without worrying about your clothing or physical discomfort!

Tips to Deal with Colic-Troy MI Newborn Photographer

Does my baby have colic?

It is common for babies to get colic. It affects up to 40% of infants and is most common around six weeks of age. Here’s some signs a baby may have colic:

The baby is otherwise healthy.
They cry at least three hours a day and more than three days per week.
The baby kicks or draws legs up so as to alleviate gas pain.
Their belly seems swollen or firm while crying.

While the exact cause of colic is unknown, some doctors claim that there are certain triggers that may increase the risk of colic. Such causes include:

A digestive tract that’s not fully developed.
Sensitivity to certain foods that mother eats if baby is breastfeeding.
Sensitivity to milk protein in formula.
Acid reflux or gas.
Improper burping.

Tips to Try With Your Baby:

Comfort and soothe: Hold, walk or rock your baby.

Change Position: Try different positions, such as upright, on their side, or on their tummy (when awake).

White noise: Running a fan, humming to them, white noise machine or a car ride to provide soothing sounds.

Massage: Gently massage your baby’s tummy in a clockwise motion.

Warm bath: Give your baby a warm bath to relax them.

Pacifier: A pacifier can help calm your baby.

Dietary changes (if breastfeeding): Mom may try eliminating dairy, eggs, or soy from her diet.

Formula changes: If formula-fed, consider switching to a formula designed for colic.

Medications: In some cases, your doctor may prescribe medications such as simethicone drops or anti-gas drops.

Additional Tips:

Get support: Talk to your partner, family, or friends for emotional support.

Take breaks: It’s important to take breaks for yourself to avoid burnout. Getting rest and taking care of yourself will definitely help you get through.

See a doctor: If your baby’s crying is excessive, lasts for more than 3 hours a day, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, seek medical attention promptly.

While it is so hard not knowing what is causing your baby to cry and not being able to help them, remember colic is a temporary condition that usually resolves itself.

10 Secrets for a More Comfortable Delivery-Troy MI Newborn Photographer

Hey there Mama-to-be! You might be feeling a little overwhelmed with all the information (or lack of) about giving birth. But, don’t worry! I’ve got you! Birth Beyond the Basics: 10 Secrets for a More Comfortable Delivery will give you a great starting point in building your birth plan.

As a Troy MI newborn photographer, I have heard hundreds of birth stories and have also had my own. Planning ahead and getting answers to questions, you might not even know if this is your first pregnancy, can help you feel more prepared.

Here are 10 things your doctor probably didn’t tell you about giving birth that will help you feel more prepared and in control.

(And hey, if these pique your interest, bring these up to your doctor at the next appointment!)

You don’t have to give birth in the hospital.

Giving birth at home or in a birth center can provide a more relaxed and intimate setting for the birth of your baby. It allows you to have more control over the birthing process and can provide a more personalized experience. This option is safe for low-risk pregnancies and has similar or better outcomes compared to hospital births.

Question for your doctor: Would he/she support you and work with a home birth midwife if you decided to go this route?

Epidurals are not the only form of pain relief available during labor.

Epidurals are a common form of pain relief during labor, but they are not the only option available. Other forms of pain relief include nitrous oxide, spinal blocks, and natural methods such as hypnobirthing, acupuncture and massage. These options can provide a more natural and less invasive form of pain relief.

Question for your doctor: What other pain relief options do they see often that’s effective other than epidural?

You can bring your own music or sounds to the delivery room.

Music can have a powerful impact on our emotions, and it can help create a calm and soothing environment for you during labor. You can bring your own playlist, a sound machine, or even your own voice to help you relax and focus during labor.

Question for your doctor: Can I bring music to the birthing room?

Birthing pools can help you feel more comfortable and relaxed during labor.

Warm water can help ease the pain and discomfort of contractions, and it also allows you to move around more easily, which can help the baby move down the birth canal. Birthing pools can also provide a sense of privacy and intimacy during labor.

Question for your doctor: Are there birth pools at the hospital or another way I can use water to relax?

You will probably poop during labor (and that’s okay!).

It’s a normal and natural part of the birthing process, and your nurses and doctors are used to it. Don’t let this concern hold you back, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about.

Birthing positions – there are many different positions that can help make the birthing process easier.

There are various birthing positions that can help make the birthing process easier, such as standing up, sitting down, on your hands and knees, or even lying down. Experiment with different positions to find what feels most comfortable for you.

Question for your doctor: In what positions are you willing to help me birth my baby?

Doulas are a great support and aren’t only used for birth.

A doula is a professional trained to provide emotional and physical support to a woman and her partner during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum period. A doula can help you with relaxation techniques, provide emotional support, and advocate for your wishes during birth.

Question for your doctor: Do you work with doulas often? Are there any you recommend?

You can eat and drink during labor, if you want to.

Having a light snack can help keep your energy levels up. It’s important to listen to your body and your healthcare provider during labor, and to make sure you are well hydrated and nourished.

Question: Under what circumstances will I not be allowed to eat or drink in labor?

The power of the mind – visualization and other relaxation techniques can help during labor.

Visualization and relaxation techniques such as hypnobirthing, yoga, and meditation can help you stay calm and focused during labor. It can also help to lower stress hormones and increase endorphins, which can make labor more manageable.

Question: Is there anything I can do now to learn how to cope with labor?

Cesarean sections are not as scary as they seem.

C-sections are a common form of delivery and can be planned or unplanned. Your doctor and nurses will take great care of you and your baby during the procedure. It’s important to remember that a c-section is a surgical procedure and there are risks associated with it, but it can also save the lives of both mother and baby in certain situations.

Question: In what circumstances do you perform c-sections?

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?

The ideal time for maternity photo experience is between 28-35 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage your bump is beautifully round, and you’re likely still comfortable enough to enjoy the session. Booking around 20 weeks is ideal to ensure availability.

SHOULD I GET HAIR AND MAKEUP DONE?

I do recommend having your hair and makeup done professionally for a more polished final image, but it is not necessary. I have several salons that I can recommend to you if you need help! I also find that my clients say they are happy that they didn’t have to worry about it and they seem more relaxed. Bringing a comb/brush, hairspray, lipstick/gloss is also great for quick touchups if needed.

CAN MY PARTNER OR CHILDREN COME?

YES! If you want them to be a part of the session, then I recommend it. Some clients just want to have the experience solo and some want their family with them. Either way, we will plan their outfits as well to coordinate with you. I will add them into every wardrobe change, but I also do solo shoots of you. I feel that your baby may want just a photo of their Mom pregnant with them too!

WHEN TO SCHEDULE YOUR NEWBORN SESSION

The best time for posed newborn photography is within the first two weeks after birth. During this time, babies are still flexible, making it easier to achieve those adorable curled-up poses.

If you are expecting, I recommend booking your session during your second or third trimester to secure your spot. Once your baby arrives, we will finalize a session date that works for your family.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION

When you arrive at my studio in Metro Detroit, you will be greeted with a warm and inviting environment. I provide all the props, wraps, and outfits needed for the session, so there is no need to bring anything extra. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, water and snacks. There are tons of restaurants nearby and you can have it delivered if you want!

Sessions typically last 2-3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes and cuddles. I work at a pace that ensures your baby is comfortable and happy throughout the session.

I typically start with baby and then I do parent and sibling photos. Sometimes, parents choose to have siblings come an hour or so into the session, instead of being there the entire session.

They will be looked at my your children who will love seeing how Mom and Dad looked and the joy you had and the love you share.

BOOKING YOUR POSED NEWBORN SESSION

My online booking process is easy! Once I receive your initial inquiry, I will respond with answers to any questions and I style a custom session with your vision in mind.

If you decide to book a posed newborn photography session with me, I will email you a session agreement and invoice for the session retainer or payment. Once I receive both completed, I will email you a pre-planning session questionnaire and session prep.

The pre-planning session questionnaire is where I get information on what colors, props or other pertinent information. I will also send a questionnaire once baby has been born and we chose our session date. This final questionnaire will allow me to get baby’s name and weight, names of any siblings, final color choices and prop choices, etc. I also will ask if there were any complications or ongoing treatments for baby or Mom. This allows me to make any necessary accommodations to make Mom and baby comfortable.

Metro Detroit Photographer | Peyton Milestone Session

I love being a Metro Detroit photographer and I love working with my adorable little clients to capture all their milestones in their first year!

Peyton is a member of our Grow with Me Plan and she came in for her Sitter session. Since her last session at three months old, she has been working hard on sitting up unassisted. I think she has it mastered! She is so photogenic and happy! We always have so much fun!

Mom brought in the most beautiful outfits and little felt strawberries that matched her cute strawberry tulle dress. They were a huge hit with Peyton!

I love the purple outfit with flowers embroidered on it. There is something about purple, tulle and a beautiful baby girl just makes my heart so happy!

I love how she is holding the six month plaque and of course those adorable baby toes!

We did one last quick outfit and this tulle dress had butterflies on it and was so cute!

I am already looking forward to her next session in a few months.

5 Tips to Get Your Kids Excited For Photos

Are you worried that your kids will not behave for photos? I know it is one of the biggest things clients worry about when deciding to do a family session. I totally understand as a Mom myself. I have a few tried and true tips that have helped me make sessions run smoothly and to kids to be excited for their session!

Here are my top 5 TIPS to get your kids excited for photos…..

ONE

Tell them they are going to a special place to play & have fun. Telling they are going to play and have fun immediately makes them feel more excited to do this! I love capturing real life moments, belly laughs, genuine smiles and relaxed parents!

TWO

Let them be playful -try not to force them to do something. We move a lot during our session to keep little ones attention and to avoid meltdowns. Letting them lead the way often creates the most beautiful, organic images!

THREE

Save the treats/rewards for after the session. I am not above bribing, but will leave that to you! Sometimes a small toy they want, a book or even a delicious treat they love is a great way to get them to cooperate if they need a little incentive.

FOUR

Play WITH them! These create beautiful, organic images and they will absolutely love these to look back on someday! Remember, this session is designed to be a relaxed, fun experience. We do a few poses, but most are unposed to capture real life!

FIVE

Stay positive & keep smiling! Even if everything is starting to go sideways, just keep smiling, laughing and playing. If we need to take a little break to change direction, we will do that. I don’t have any expectations and you shouldn’t either! Even teenagers sometimes need a moment and that’s ok!

I know one of the biggest worries is “Will my kids will behave during the session?”

Outdoor sessions are great for giving us the perfect place to have fun and play! To them, it doesn’t feel like work…it is just fun! They don’t have to be perfect, standing still and looking at the camera. They are wiggly and full of energy, so we want to capture that!

I keep things moving to get those sweet moments captured without them losing interest. I love catching sweet moments of you with them and they will love to have them someday!

So don’t worry, just relax and let me capture those images you want of your family!

Not the random cell phone photo, because let’s be honest…those are great to document every day moments, but are usually taken when you aren’t looking your best. I mean professional photos where you have your hair tamed, makeup on, and everyone is dressed in coordinating, clean clothes. Probably been awhile, or worse…never.

Worried your husband would hate every minute of it? Or worse, your kids would be less than cooperative? I got you!

I will wrangle your kids, make your husband smile and help you with wardrobe & posing to create beautiful, fun & candid images of your family that you would be proud to share.

Our Metro Detroit Fall Family Photo sessions are a fun way to document your family at their best & create amazing memories. I love capturing parents playing with their kids, catching those sweet smiles, showing the love that you have for each other when the daily stuff is not at the forefront. In these moments, I capture the bond you have with your family and they will not whine & complain about it. Sessions are relaxed & easy and they will only remember the fun they had playing with you.

Looking back on these images, they will see and FEEL the love you have for them. As they grow, they change and it happens SO quickly. Documenting these moments will mean so much to you and to them.

I will guide you through session prep with my customized prep guide, wardrobe guidance, & unique styling tool to help you choose and coordinate outfits for your family. We will have 45 minutes together for you to explore & play with your kids while I capture the magic. My style is a mix of naturally posed images with a lot of candid images! I encourage you to have fun playing and laughing.

Metro Detroit Maternity Photographer

As a metro Detroit maternity photographer, my job is to take amazing photos and to know how to make my clients look their best. I take my job seriously. I love documenting this special time in a mother’s life and decided to make it something more than just an average photo session. Mommas deserve time to feel beautiful and to get a little pampered!

The Experience

That’s why I created a luxury maternity experience with session styling and access to a gorgeous client closet of couture gowns, body suits & fabrics. I know how hard it is to find something that you love and fits well during pregnancy. It’s a struggle for most women in general. Over time, I have learned the styles and colors that work best for specific body types and skin, hair and eye color. You want to look your best when you are documenting something that will no doubt be passed through generations and I am here to help!

Scheduling

Scheduling your maternity session is recommended around week 20 of pregnancy. Session usually to take place around 30-36 weeks. I recommend booking these in advance to make sure you get on my schedule. Last minute bookings may not be accommodated and also makes it harder to give you the best experience. After you inquire, I will reach out and we will discuss the session details and if we are a good fit, I will send you the session agreement and retainer to book.

Styling

Once you are booked, we will start session planning. This is the fun part! I will style your session after we chat about colors you like and some other details that you give on your session planning questionnaire. You may opt to schedule a styling appointment where you will come to the studio and are able to choose your gowns for your session. I feel this is very helpful if your schedule allows. We will also talk about what your family will wear- if they will be photographed- so that everything goes together cohesively. We will discuss hair and makeup, places I recommend for hair and makeup that are local to my studio, what to wear for undergarments based on your gown choices and also other details of the style you are looking for in your images.

Session Day

I hope you feel relaxed and excited to create beautiful images of your motherhood journey. This moment is all about you and capturing this important moment in your life. The session usually is an hour. We will spend time with certain poses and making sure things are perfect, but you will be surprised how much we can get done in our time together! Now that you are all done being glamorous and probably looking your best, convince your partner that dinner out would be amazing! There are lots of great restaurants near my studio!

Viewing Appointment

We can schedule your viewing appointment following your maternity session. You will be able see your image proofs, the art work options and select your favorites. I will help you design gallery walls, albums and select prints for family. Orders are placed and full payment is due at this appointment. Your order will be available to be picked up at the studio, or if you opt for delivery, this will be scheduled once your products are in.

Here is a recent maternity session with a beautiful, glowing Momma to be!

This studio maternity session was so fun & relaxed! Momma wanted to wear a few gowns that were soft & flowy in neutral colors. She chose a beautiful silk dress in a gorgeous neutral that has lots of fabric that allowed us to create a few different looks.

She was stunning in the neutrals, but I knew that she would look beautiful in my red mermaid gown, so I convinced her to try it and she loved it! I will always recommend dresses or looks I have if there is something that I think suits you. Sometimes when I meet you, I just know there is something that you have to try and most of my clients are excited and happy with the result!

We decided to try a neutral scarf and it was so fun playing around to create different looks. There are so many options with scarves and that makes them a favorite option for Mommas to create beautiful images.

She loved getting all dressed up for the glamorous looks, but also wanted a more casual look. We went with a simple white tank and jeans that was so sweet. I loved how natural it was. I mean, I love when Mommas do both classy and all dolled up and then also simple and sweet!

For her last look, we decided since she loved the neutrals, we would go big and I pulled out this gorgeous gown! So much tulle and the perfect soft, light neutral. It looked amazing on her and I love this pose. I told her to think about her baby and imagine what it is going to be like to hold them. Such a maternal, sweet capture. We plan to do this again at her newborn session snuggling her baby.
