I have a curated collection of props, wraps, headbands, bonnets, newborn outfits, backdrops etc. to create the perfect portraits for your newborn or baby.
Access to my client closet is available for your session and includes a selection of couture maternity gowns, dresses for Moms, newborn-18 months outfits. All of my sessions include wardrobe styling and guidance to create beautiful images.
I have several locations that have the best of what Michigan has to offer that are perfect for your family’s outdoor photo session. We will determine the best location based on what you are looking for.
I would love to create heirlooms for you to pass through generations that showcase love and connection, whether it is a session to document your family, baby or the start of your motherhood journey. I offer prints, framed wall art, canvas wall art, albums & digital files.

Your home away from home. My studio is designed with families in mind. I have a comfy client lounge area and a stocked kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, coffee bar, snacks, sparkling water, soft drinks, juice, and tea.
We have a special place for Mama to get ready and a lot of extras in case you forgot something. Our baby changing area is stocked with diaper cream, wipes and extra diapers. There are books and puzzles for the kids to play with.
I love playing music during sessions if you are okay with it! Sometimes it really helps soothe unsettled babies or help toddlers with something they are familiar with. I find it really helps a lot for my maternity sessions to make it a little more fun and calm any nerves!
My goal is for you to feel welcomed and safe during our studio session together.

Hi! My name is Melissa and I am the owner/photographer of Melissa Anne Photography located in Troy, Michigan.
I started my photography journey 14 years ago and began focusing on newborns, babies first year, families and pregnancy documentation. I love capturing newborn smiles, toddler cuddles, Mom’s playing with her kids, Dad’s holding their new babies…and I love creating something that will be passed down for generations.
I believe that every Mom deserves to be in photos with their kids. I love creating joyful, candid moments that you are proud to look back at. Session styling is an important part of what I do and I love creating each session to be uniquely yours.
I am a retired medical professional, CPR certified and also certified in newborn photography and safety.
I would love to create beautiful images of your family as your Metro Detroit Photographer.
